What’s With All The Lemons?

Lemon Squeezy came to be from the saying ”when life gives you lemons make lemonade”- a phrase I’m all to familiar with. Business ownership wasn't in my original plan; I was following my “dream” of becoming a journalist when, on a whim, I started selling handmade decor as a way to be creative and make a little extra money. Two months into launching my Etsy shop, I was laid off. Unable to find a new job, I dove into entrepreneurship, transforming my hobby into a thriving business over two years. After that, I decided to shake things up and welcomed my son in 2021 but unexpected challenges soon followed.

My journey into motherhood started out on rough waters. I thought I was prepared for it all and naively thought “I’ll be back at it in a month tops”. For months I could barely leave the couch and since using power tools with a baby strapped to my chest was out of the question, my business came to a screeching halt. Feeling out of options, an opportunity to design a logo appeared. Making a pivot into graphic design, Lemon Squeezy was born two years later. My business thrived not in spite of life’s lemons but because of them.

Alyssa - Owner & Lead Designer

You’ve already heard some of my story but here is the fun stuff! I went to school for journalism, so storytelling has always been my passion. As much as I loved the field, it didn’t allow room for creativity and that is what truly has my heart. Being a brand designer let’s me do both, so it is a win win!

Outside of my business I am stay at home mama to a busy toddler. I love hiking with my little family, good snacks, and winding down from a long day with a nice glass of wine.

Christina - Website Designer

Christina specializes in user experience design and is passionate about creating beautiful and innovative websites that clients and consumers will love.

When she is not designing you can find her crafting or gaming. She has dabbled with woodworking, painting and loves to relax at the end of the day by playing video games.

Prior to her design journey she worked as an animal trainer and has gotten to work with many species such as seals, sea lions and porcupines.
